Janice Trytten (Sunflower) enjoys parallel lives as a Native Flute player and as a professional Horn player in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Earliest memory as a child in Oklahoma has her building tipis and making fabric "buckskin" dresses. Since the late 1980's she, with her family, has attended and participated in many Living History events, with focus primarily on the 1840's fur trade era. Native Flute playing developed naturally from the re-enactment experiences.
You will hear the sounds from long ago in her music, the feel of vast wide open spaces and the wonderful calming produced by the Native Flutes.
